Essential Drugs, Common Marketing, Bulk Purchase
The session will discuss the modalities for ensuring access to essential drugs in developing countries in the light of TRIPS agreement, and the prospects of developing a common market in Arab and Islamic countries to get an access to essential drugs at affordable and equitable price. Further, how the group-purchasing program of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, as in the GCC states, can help to overcome the difficulties of globalization will aslo be discussed.
